Identification (Season 1)

Identification (2022) is a Russian detective series directed by Vladlena Sandu — stream it online on iFILM. Valeria, an orphan who sells goods at a Moscow flea market, converts to Islam when she falls for a Kyrgyz man and marries into his family. On their wedding day, his brother attacks her. She escapes. He turns up dead.

All suspicion falls on Valeria. The only people who believe her are a rookie defense attorney, Daniil Kramer, and a world-weary investigator, Grigory Plakhov. Meanwhile, a refrigerated truck carrying four women's bodies is found near the Finnish border — each victim has the same house tattoo on her neck. Valeria, it turns out, has one too, hidden under her hijab.
