Synopsis
Innocent Witness (2019) is a South Korean legal thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Director Lee Han centres the film on one core tension: a defense attorney skilled at shaping testimony faces the only witness he cannot maneuver — a teenage girl with autism who simply tells the truth.
Attorney Yang Sun-ho (Jung Woo-sung) works at a firm caught up in a corporate liability scandal. To repair the company's image, he's assigned to defend a housekeeper accused of killing her elderly employer. The sole witness is Ji-woo (Kim Hyang-ki), the fifteen-year-old neighbor next door who has autism spectrum disorder and saw everything. Sun-ho's usual courtroom tools — leading questions, strategic framing — don't register with her. She answers what she understood, nothing more.
Jung Woo-sung and Kim Hyang-ki carry the film through restraint rather than drama; neither character performs emotion on cue. Underneath the case runs a pointed look at how a justice system built on persuasion handles someone who cannot be persuaded to say the wrong thing. Stream Innocent Witness (2019) online on iFILM.
