Joanna Crane has a clean separation between her days and her nights. During business hours she runs a successful fashion design company. After dark she becomes China Blue, a prostitute working out of a cheap hotel room. When engineer Bobby Grady is hired to tail her on suspicion of leaking trade secrets, surveillance turns into obsession — his and hers both. Then there is the street preacher played by Perkins, whose fixation on China Blue has crossed well past righteous indignation into something genuinely dangerous.
