Synopsis

The Last Kingdom (2015), Season 1 — eight episodes, watch online on iFILM. England in 866 AD is not a country yet; it's territory being divided without asking anyone's permission.

Young Uhtred of Bebbanburg watches his father die in battle and gets taken home by Viking jarl Ragnar, who raises him Norse. When treachery tears apart his adopted family, Uhtred has nothing — no people, no land — and rides toward Alfred of Wessex, the man methodically trying to knit the Saxon kingdoms together. Uhtred is useful to Alfred. Whether he can be trusted is a different question, and neither of them forgets it.
