Synopsis

Daria (1997), Season 3 — 13 episodes of MTV's animated comedy, watch online on iFILM. Lawndale stays absurd, but the third season lets the show experiment in ways the earlier ones didn't.

The format shifts more than once. One episode goes full musical when a hurricane warning rolls through town. Another turns Lawndale into an X-Files parody complete with suspected alien infiltration. Holidays show up as literal animated characters on leave from an island. Woven between these tangents are the season's harder notes: Jake has a heart attack, which rattles the Morgendorffer household more than Daria would ever say out loud. She and Quinn end up on a road trip together to help Jane and Trent out of a jam — neither is pleased, both manage. The finale closes with the biggest shift since the pilot: Jane starts dating someone, and Daria takes it badly.
