Synopsis
The Bastard Executioner (2015) is an American historical drama you can watch online on iFILM. Created by Kurt Sutter — the man behind Sons of Anarchy — it's set in 14th-century northern Wales during a period of violent rebellion against the English crown. Lee Jones stars as Wilkin Brattle, a battle-scarred warrior who swears off the sword, then finds himself forced to assume the identity of a traveling executioner. Flora Spencer-Longhurst, Katey Sagal, and Stephen Moyer round out the cast; Sutter himself appears onscreen.
Wilkin's new cover puts him at the center of a deeply corrupt occupation: English lords extracting taxes at sword point, Welsh rebels organizing in the hills, and a lord's widow whose loyalties run in unexpected directions. Every episode raises the personal cost of the life Wilkin is living under a false name.
