Devil May Cry (デビル メイ クライ, 2007) is a Japanese anime series you can watch online on iFILM, produced by Madhouse and directed by Takayuki Inagaki — an adaptation of Capcom's action-game franchise with the same name and the same half-demon protagonist.

Dante runs a demon-hunting agency out of a perpetually broke office, picking up contracts to slaughter supernatural threats across a version of the human world under constant siege from the underworld. He's massively overpowered and completely disorganised: the money goes to pizza and strawberry sundaes, the jobs leave collateral destruction in all directions, and the invoices never get paid. Toshiyuki Morikawa's voice work in the original Japanese captures that absurd contrast perfectly — the strongest being in the room who still can't cover his tab.

Twelve episodes, tight individual arcs, no filler backstory. Fans of the games will recognise the set pieces and supporting characters; newcomers get a self-contained action anime with enough demon lore to follow without playing anything first. Stream Devil May Cry online on iFILM.
