Synopsis
The Home (2025) is an American horror thriller you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by James DeMonaco — the filmmaker behind The Purge franchise — with Pete Davidson carrying the lead.
Max, a troubled man with a fragmented past, takes a job as a caretaker at a retirement home. The residents seem pleasant enough. The staff are professional. Then the fourth floor comes up, and nobody will explain what's up there. The stranger things get, the more Max suspects that whatever the building is hiding connects directly to his own years in the foster care system.
DeMonaco keeps the film contained and slow-burning rather than relying on jump scares — this is closer to atmospheric dread than shock horror. John Glover and Jessica Hecht are unsettling in the supporting roles, and Davidson's performance is more grounded than his previous work.
