Nefarious

Nefarious (2023) is a chamber horror-thriller you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Chuck Konzelman and Cary Solomon. Nearly the whole film is a single conversation in a prison interview room, hours before an execution.

Psychiatrist Dr. James Martin (Jordan Belfi) must decide whether condemned killer Edward is sane enough to face the electric chair. Edward, played with quiet menace by Sean Patrick Flanery, insists he is no man at all but a demon called Nefarious, and calmly promises that the doctor will commit three murders before the day ends. The previous examiner already took his own life. What follows is a battle of words, each man trying to break the other before the clock runs out.

The movie leans almost entirely on performance and dialogue rather than gore, playing out as a parable about belief and doubt. If you like tense, talky two-handers in the vein of The Silence of the Lambs but stripped of any chase, this one digs in. Stream Nefarious (2023) online on iFILM.
