Synopsis
The Midnight Club (2022) is a Netflix horror-drama series you can watch online on iFILM, created by Mike Flanagan, the director behind The Haunting of Hill House. Eight terminally ill teenagers living in a hospice make a pact: whoever dies first must send a sign back from the other side.
Ilonka arrives at Brightcliffe Manor at eighteen, after a cancer diagnosis leaves her with few options. Each night the club gathers by firelight and takes turns telling dark stories — the show embeds a separate horror anthology tale inside every episode, which keeps things moving in a way that straight supernatural drama rarely manages. Iman Benson carries the series with a performance that feels genuinely raw rather than telegraphed.
Flanagan adapted the series from Christopher Pike's 1994 novel, releasing ten episodes in October 2022. The nested-story format gives the writers room to circle the same question from different angles — what people hold onto when they have very little time left — without ever turning preachy.
