A teenage boy surfaces near a Northumberland salmon farm, and the investigation cuts through a web of lies shared between two very different families. A Newcastle cleaner dies, but the pathology puts the fatal blow hours before he actually collapsed — Vera has to work out where he was. The fourth case looks like a home invasion gone wrong: a wealthy betting-shop owner shot, cash stripped from his safe. Looks like.
