Synopsis
Pride (2007) is a sports drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Sunu Gonera and starring Terrence Howard as coach Jim Ellis. Philadelphia, early 1970s: Ellis, a competitive swimmer, can't break into any coaching job and ends up taking a temp position at a crumbling rec center in one of the city's hardest neighborhoods — a building the city has already earmarked for demolition.
With the center's janitor Elston (Bernie Mac) reluctantly on his side, Jim builds a swim team from scratch out of kids who have never touched a lane. What they're up against isn't just rival clubs — it's open hostility, bureaucratic walls, and the assumption that none of this belongs here.
The film draws on the true story of Jim Ellis and the PHL Unity swim team, whose journey from a condemned building to national competition took decades to reach wider recognition. Howard and Mac are a solid pairing, and the film earns what it's going for. Stream Pride (2007) online on iFILM.
