Synopsis
The Lords of Salem (2013) is Rob Zombie's witch-haunted horror, available to watch online on iFILM. Radio DJ Heidi receives a wooden box holding a record marked "a gift from the Lords," and the moment the needle drops, she's hit with violent visions of her town's buried history.
Heidi spins records at a small station in Salem, Massachusetts, alongside two co-hosts. She figures the disc is a promo from some unknown band, but the track latches onto her alone and loops in her skull for days. An invitation to a "show" arrives next, while the women in her building start acting wrong. Sheri Moon Zombie plays Heidi as someone slowly losing her footing, with Meg Foster and Judy Geeson supplying the scenes that crawl under your skin.
Zombie skips the slasher beats for a slow ritual nightmare: saturated color, dead silence where the jump scares would be, imagery that stays lodged in your head.
