Wakfu (2008) is a French fantasy cartoon from Ankama Animation that you can watch online on iFILM. It unfolds in the World of Twelve, the same setting as the studio's MMORPG. A twelve-year-old boy named Yugo discovers he can rip open glowing portals out of thin air — and that gift hides the secret of where he came from.

Years earlier the dragon Grougaloragran left baby Yugo with an innkeeper. Now the boy sets out to find his real kin. He travels with a crew that never stops bickering: Ruel, a treasure-obsessed old miser; Tristepin, a hotheaded knight who swings first and thinks later; Princess Amalia of the Sadida people; and her archer bodyguard Evangelyne. Every stop on the road brings an ambush, a rival, or someone hunting the power locked inside Yugo.

Hand-drawn in an anime-flavored style, the show mixes fast combat with humor that never talks down to kids. It began as a browser game and became the canon of Ankama's whole universe.
