Herself (2020) is an Irish-British drama from director Phyllida Lloyd that you can watch online on iFILM. After leaving a husband who abused her, young mother Sandra is left with two daughters and nowhere to live.

Renting in Dublin is beyond her means, and the social housing list stretches on for years. So Sandra does something reckless: she sets out to build a small home with her own hands, and a handful of near-strangers turn up to help raise it. Clare Dunne plays Sandra and co-wrote the script, alongside Harriet Walter and Conleth Hill. Lloyd, of Mamma Mia! fame, resists every easy sentiment — there's fear here, and courtrooms, and real weight — but the idea underneath is plain: hands build a house, and people give you something to stand on.
