Freaky Friday

Freaky Friday (1976) is a Disney family fantasy-comedy directed by Gary Nelson — watch it online on iFILM. On an otherwise ordinary Friday morning, harried housewife Ellen Andrews and her teenage daughter Annabel each wish they could trade places for a day. The wish lands. Barbara Harris plays the mother stranded in a teenager's body; a twenty-two-year-old Jodie Foster plays the daughter dealing with the reverse.

Annabel discovers that running a household and managing a husband is not the soft option she assumed. Ellen finds out that high school in 1976 comes with its own gauntlet. Both of them got exactly what they asked for — and immediately regret it. The film is adapted from Mary Rodgers' novel, which also inspired two later screen versions.
