Metro

Metro (1997) is an Eddie Murphy action thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Scott Roper is the San Francisco police department's sharpest hostage negotiator, the guy they send to talk a desperate man off the ledge before anyone gets shot.

The job turns personal when jewel thief Michael Korda walks into town. Korda is smooth, smart and completely without a conscience, and when a heist goes wrong he kills Roper's partner. Scott puts him behind bars, but Korda breaks out and grabs Roper's girlfriend Ronnie to settle the score. With rookie sharpshooter Kevin McCall at his side, the negotiator now has to win the one conversation he can't afford to lose.

Directed by Thomas Carter, the film pairs Murphy's fast-talking charm with a genuinely tense streetcar chase down San Francisco's hills. Michael Wincott plays Korda as an ice-cold villain who steals every scene he's in. Good pick for anyone who misses practical, mid-90s cop thrillers shot without a frame of CGI.
