The Surfer

The Surfer (2025) is a psychological thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Lorcan Finnegan and starring Nicolas Cage. An Australian-Irish-British co-production, running 100 minutes.

A man returns to the coastal town where he grew up, bringing his teenage son and plans to buy back the family home. The beach he remembers is controlled by a tight group of locals who have one rule: if you don't live here, you don't surf here. He tries to push back. It goes badly. He could simply drive away — but something in him refuses.

Finnegan directed Vivarium and Nocebo, both built on the same mechanism: a protagonist caught in a situation that keeps tightening, where their own stubbornness becomes indistinguishable from madness.
