Primitive War

A recon squad code-named the Vultures moves into an isolated jungle valley to find a missing Special Forces platoon. They find the valley. They find out why no one came back. Prehistoric predators have claimed the terrain, and the soldiers' training counts for almost nothing against enemies that no field manual anticipated. Sparke treats the mashup with a straight face — there is genuine tension in watching modern military tactics crumble against an enemy from before recorded history.
