Funeral in Berlin (1966) is a Cold War spy thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Michael Caine returns as Harry Palmer, the ex-con turned reluctant British intelligence man, and this time London sends him into a Berlin still split down the middle by the Wall.

The job sounds simple and never is. KGB colonel Stok, the officer in charge of security along the Wall, hints that he wants out — defection to the West, a quiet retirement growing roses. Palmer has to decide whether the old spymaster means it and then arrange a safe crossing. The deeper he goes, the less he can tell who is running whom. A sharp Israeli agent named Samantha turns up, and everyone at the table is holding a card they haven't shown.

This second Palmer film was directed by Guy Hamilton, fresh off Goldfinger, who strips the glamour right out of espionage: no gadgets, no car chases, just forged papers, paperwork and patience.
