Synopsis
Beyond the Darkness (Buio Omega, 1979) is an Italian horror film you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Joe D'Amato and scored by the band Goblin. One of the more uncompromising entries in Italian genre cinema of its era.
After his young fiancée dies and is buried, Francesco cannot accept it. He digs up the coffin the same night and brings the body back to his family villa, where his devoted housekeeper Anna helps conceal what he's doing. The problem compounds: anyone who gets too close to the secret doesn't leave. What began as grief becomes a mounting series of killings.
D'Amato doesn't dress this up — there's no psychological distance between the film and its subject matter, which is precisely why it acquired a cult following among horror collectors.
