Synopsis
Hellboy Animated: Blood and Iron (2007) is a supernatural action horror you can watch online on iFILM. Ron Perlman is back as the cigar-chewing red demon of the Bureau for Paranormal Research, and this case digs up something he'd rather stayed buried.
Decades ago, Professor Bruttenholm destroyed a vampire who bathed in the blood of the innocent to keep herself young. Now a bored billionaire's haunted mansion becomes the staging ground for her return. Hellboy, firestarter Liz Sherman and amphibious Abe Sapien walk in expecting ghosts and walk into harpies, hellhounds, a towering werewolf and the goddess Hecate herself.
Directed by Victor Cook and Tad Stones from Mike Mignola's comics, the film keeps most of the live-action voice cast — Selma Blair, Doug Jones, John Hurt. At seventy-five minutes it moves fast and leans hard into gothic dread, which makes it a treat for Hellboy regulars more than a starting point for newcomers.
