Synopsis
Crazy/Beautiful (2001) is an American teen romance directed by John Stockwell — watch it online on iFILM. Kirsten Dunst plays Nicole, a congressman's daughter in Pacific Palisades whose reckless behavior has worn out everyone around her. Jay Hernandez plays Carlos, a kid from a working-class Latino neighborhood who wakes at 5 a.m. every day to commute across the city chasing a shot at the Naval Academy.
They meet at school. Every adult in their lives tells them this is a mistake. The film's best move is refusing to make Nicole simply troubled or simply charming — Dunst plays someone genuinely hard to be around, and Hernandez gives Carlos a quiet steadiness that keeps the film from tipping into sentiment.
