Synopsis
Hunter Will Get You (L'Alpagueur, 1976) is a French crime thriller starring Jean-Paul Belmondo, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Belmondo plays a freelance manhunter the police quietly hire when their own rules tie their hands. His new target: an elusive killer known as the Hawk.
The Hawk's method is clean and cruel. He recruits desperate young men to rob banks and jewelers for him, then erases each accomplice the moment the job is done, leaving nothing behind. One of them survives by sheer luck — the only thread to pull. The hunter sets his trap knowing this prey is smarter and colder than anyone he has chased before. Bruno Cremer makes the villain genuinely unsettling.
Director Philippe Labro shoots it in pure 1970s style: real Paris streets, chases with no slow motion, sparse music, plenty of tension. Belmondo, as always, handles much of his own stunt work.
