Synopsis
Jimmy Hollywood (1994) is an American comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Barry Levinson and led by Joe Pesci as Jimmy Alto — an aspiring actor who has spent years auditioning in Hollywood and getting exactly nowhere.
After a rash of break-ins near his apartment, Jimmy decides to fight back. With his sidekick William — Christian Slater playing a guy whose short-term memory was destroyed by a head injury — he starts patrolling the neighbourhood as a self-made crime-fighter. The local press picks it up. Jimmy's alter ego becomes famous; Jimmy himself stays a total unknown. Levinson turns the premise into something bleaker than the setup suggests: a comedy about a city that manufactures celebrity while keeping the actual people behind it invisible.
