About

Synopsis

Tin Men (1987) is a comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Barry Levinson. The place is Baltimore, 1963; the trigger is a parking-lot crash between two aluminum-siding salesmen, Bill Babowsky and Ernest Tilley, which spirals into a private war neither man will quit.

Babowsky (Richard Dreyfuss) and Tilley (Danny DeVito) are equally slick at their trade, talking suburban homeowners into siding they never wanted. To wound his rival, Babowsky sets out to seduce Tilley's wife (Barbara Hershey) — then catches real feelings instead. Meanwhile a state commission circles, ready to shut their whole scam of a business down for good.

It's the second film in Levinson's Baltimore cycle, following Diner, and it lives in its talk — salesmen lounging in a diner booth, arguing about the TV show Bonanza and the meaning of life in the same breath. Warm, sharp-tongued, and quietly elegiac about small-time con men at the end of their era. Stream Tin Men (1987) online on iFILM.
