Instead he spends his mornings tearing across Chicago trying to rewrite the headlines before they come true. Two friends pitch in: Chuck, who never quite gives up on cashing in, and Marissa, blind but the sharpest read of people in the room. Where the paper comes from, and what the cat has to do with it, nobody ever learns — Gary included.
