Synopsis
The Best of Times (1986) is Roger Spottiswoode's sports comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Robin Williams and Kurt Russell play two men still trapped inside a football game they lost fifteen years ago.
The dozing California town of Taft is known for one oil derrick and a football team that never wins. Banker Jack Dundee, played by Williams, has never forgiven himself for the dropped pass that cost the town its big game. His fix borders on lunacy: round up the now-paunchy players and run the whole match again. Trouble is, former star Reno Hightower (Russell) and the rest of Taft want nothing to do with it.
This is a gentle comedy about stubbornness and second chances, where the scoreboard is really an excuse to talk about stalled lives and shaky marriages.
