Sahara

Sahara (2005) is an action-adventure comedy directed by Breck Eisner that you can watch online on iFILM. Matthew McConaughey plays Dirk Pitt, a former Navy SEAL turned treasure hunter chasing a rumour about a Confederate ironclad warship that supposedly disappeared into the West African desert during the Civil War era. Steve Zahn is his wisecracking partner Al, and Penélope Cruz plays Dr. Eva Rojas, a WHO scientist trying to track down the source of a plague killing people across the region.

The two storylines collide when Pitt and Al realise the missing ship and the spreading disease have the same root cause — and the same local warlord standing in the way. Based on Clive Cussler's novel about his recurring hero Dirk Pitt, the film leans fully into lightweight adventure: car chases across the Sahara, a solar power plant run by a very bad man, and a lot of McConaughey grinning through impossible situations.
