Rambling Rose

Rambling Rose (1991) is a Southern drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Martha Coolidge. Set in 1930s Georgia, the story follows Rose (Laura Dern), a young woman taken in by the Hillyer family as a live-in maid — partly to give her a way off the street.

Adapted from Calder Willingham's 1972 novel, the film earned simultaneous Oscar nominations for Dern and her real-life mother Diane Ladd, the first time a mother and daughter competed for Academy Awards in the same year.
