Synopsis
The Last of Sheila (1973) is a mystery you can watch online on iFILM. Exactly one year after Sheila dies in a hit-and-run, her millionaire husband gathers six Hollywood friends aboard his yacht for a week off the French Riviera, and invites them to play a game he has devised himself.
Each guest gets a card naming someone's secret "sin" — an affair, a theft, something darker. The point is to figure out whose secret belongs to whom, following clue after clue along the coast. At first it's a parlor amusement for bored, rich people. Then it becomes clear the host (James Coburn) knows far more about everyone than they realized, one of the cards is no invention, and somebody will kill to keep it buried.
The cabin holds James Mason, Raquel Welch, Ian McShane, Dyan Cannon, Richard Benjamin and Joan Hackett, with Herbert Ross directing. The screenplay came from actor Anthony Perkins and composer Stephen Sondheim, two obsessive puzzle-makers, and their whodunit plays fair: every clue is on screen if you're sharp enough to gather it. A treat for viewers who like to solve a mystery in step with the cast. Stream The Last of Sheila (1973) online on iFILM.
