Synopsis

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973) is a classic American animated TV special you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Bill Melendez and Phil Roman. Running just 25 minutes, it is based on Charles Schulz's Peanuts comic strip: Peppermint Patty invites herself and her friends over to Charlie Brown's house for a full Thanksgiving dinner — without asking, without warning, and without realizing that Charlie Brown was already heading to his grandmother's. Snoopy and Woodstock take on the cooking duties, and the results include popcorn, buttered toast and pretzel sticks.

The special has outlasted every decade since its CBS debut. Vince Guaraldi's jazz score has a life of its own, Snoopy's kitchen scene is still funny on the twentieth watch, and the message — that the people around the table matter more than what's on it — lands cleanly without being heavy-handed.
