The Eminence in Shadow (陰の実力者になりたくて！, 2022) is a Japanese anime series blending dark fantasy, action and self-aware comedy — watch it online on iFILM. Sid always wanted to be a shadowbroker: not a hero, not a celebrity, but the unseen force behind everything, stepping in at the critical moment and vanishing without a trace. In his original world, he trained in secret for exactly this purpose. Then a truck ended that chapter.

He wakes up in a world of magic and swords, and something unexpected happens — his elaborate fictional secret society turns out to be real, his made-up enemy cult actually exists, and everyone around him treats his unhinged monologuing as the words of a true mastermind. Sid plays the role so completely that he never notices the gap between delusion and fact has closed.
