Synopsis
7 Days in Hell (2015) is an HBO mockumentary comedy you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Jake Szymanski and clocking in at 43 minutes. It presents itself as a serious sports documentary about a tennis match in 2001 that dragged on for a full week — pitting Aaron Williams (Andy Samberg), a delinquent British player with a criminal record, against Charles Poole (Kit Harington), a brooding Swiss prodigy raised in near-total isolation.
The talking-head lineup is absurd in the best way: John Hamm, Michael Sheen, Karen Gillan, Lena Dunham, and Will Forte all deliver deadpan testimonials, while Serena Williams and John McEnroe play heightened versions of themselves with complete conviction. Archival footage, sideline commentators, grieving families — the format holds all the way through.
Szymanski keeps it tight enough that the joke never wears out before the credits roll. Stream 7 Days in Hell (2015) online on iFILM.
