Synopsis
The Devil's Violinist (2013) — watch online on iFILM, a Bernard Rose biographical drama about Niccolò Paganini, the Italian violinist whose reputation outran any normal explanation.
In the early 19th century, Paganini toured Paris, London, and the courts of Europe to houses that couldn't account for what they were hearing. The rumor of a deal with the devil followed him from city to city, and he neither confirmed nor denied it. Offstage, the life was less theatrical: relentless touring, wine, opium, and a quiet emptiness that nothing fixed. A London concert brought him to a singer whose voice cut through all of it — possibly the only thing that did.
The casting is the film's real argument: David Garrett, one of the foremost violinists of his generation, plays Paganini himself and performs the music live. Every concert scene is real playing.
