Synopsis
Serial (Bad) Weddings 2 (2019) is the French comedy sequel you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Philippe de Chauveron with Christian Clavier and Chantal Lauby reprising their roles as Claude and Marie Verneuil.
The four sons-in-law are still in the picture — David, Rachid, Chao and Charles — but now each one has decided to leave France for his home country, taking the Verneuils' daughters with them. Claude and Marie, who spent the first film learning to live with their culturally diverse family, now have to figure out a world where that family is scattered across four different continents.
The original 2014 film drew over 12 million tickets in France, which is an exceptional number for a local comedy. De Chauveron's follow-up broadens the frame by giving more screen time to the in-laws' families, so the culture-clash humour runs in both directions rather than always landing on the Verneuils.
