Synopsis
Last Call for Nowhere (2016) — released in France as Débarquement immédiat! — is a French comedy directed by Philippe de Chauveron, available to watch online on iFILM. Officer José Fernandez has one last job before his promotion: fly a detainee named Akim to Kabul. Problem is, Akim ended up on the list by pure clerical error and has no intention of going quietly.
The plan falls apart on the tarmac in Malta, where a forced layover flips the script entirely: now José is the one being mistaken for a suspicious foreigner, and the two men who started the trip as cop and prisoner have to run together. Rémi Kerizy and Médi Sadoun carry the physical comedy through a series of escalating misunderstandings across a sun-baked Mediterranean island.
De Chauveron made his name with Serial (Bad) Weddings, one of the highest-grossing comedies in French cinema history. This one trades wedding-table arguments for airport chaos, but the formula — bureaucratic absurdity, mismatched partners, mounting stakes — is very much the same. Stream Last Call for Nowhere online on iFILM.
