Land and Freedom

Land and Freedom (1995) is Ken Loach's war drama you can watch online on iFILM. Unemployed British communist Dave Carr heads to Spain in 1936 and joins the POUM militia — an unlikely mix of volunteers from across Europe fighting on the Aragon front.

Dave finds solidarity in the trenches, and something closer to love with fellow fighter Blanca. But the Spanish Civil War turns out to be two wars at once: one against fascism, another fought from the inside, as Moscow's agents quietly dismantle the revolution their allies are dying for.
