Dolls

Dolls (1986) is a horror-fantasy from director Stuart Gordon — watch it online on iFILM. A storm strands a handful of strangers at a remote country mansion owned by a peculiar elderly couple. The place is packed floor to ceiling with dolls. They don't stay still for long.

Among the unwilling guests: a sweet-natured salesman, a little girl stuck with her cold father and spiteful stepmother, and two rowdy hitchhikers who have zero respect for other people's property. That last detail matters. Gordon builds the film around a clear moral code — the dolls punish cruelty and selfishness and leave the genuine innocents alone. It's closer to a dark fairy tale than a straight slasher, and that's what gives it staying power.
