Synopsis

The victim is a young Nigerian man, last seen days earlier in Lerwick. What looks like one murder pulls DI Jimmy Perez toward a missing young woman, Zezi, and from there into a trafficking network threaded through Scotland's remotest corners. The clock matters here. Someone is still alive and hidden, and every lead the team burns through brings the deadline closer. Perez has his own crack to deal with too — a kiss he didn't plan throws him off at the worst possible moment.
