Synopsis
The Cutting Edge: Chasing the Dream (2008) is a romantic sports drama you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Stuart Gillard. Figure skater Zack (Matt Lanter) has a clear shot at the Paris championship — until his partner goes down with a serious injury weeks before competition and his entire career stalls.
His search for a replacement leads him to an amateur hockey rink, where Alexandra is good on skates but has never thought twice about figure skating and likes Zack about as much as early-morning practice. Francia Raísa plays her with real stubbornness, which is exactly what the film needs: the chemistry here runs on friction, not instant charm. Christy Carlson Romano rounds out the cast in a story that works best when it leans into the comedy of two people who are technically partners but agree on nothing.
