Synopsis
End of the Line (2007) is a Canadian horror-thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Maurice Devereaux directs this tight underground nightmare: psychiatric nurse Karen catches the last subway train of the night, and the train grinds to a halt deep inside the tunnel.
Then the killing starts. The passengers crowding the other cars belong to a doomsday cult, convinced the apocalypse has arrived and that murdering the living is the only way to spare their souls from hell. Armed with crucifix-handled blades, they spread through the carriages. Karen and a few survivors are left to crawl through pitch-black service tunnels toward an exit that may not exist — and the further down they go, the harder it gets to tell fanatic delusion from something genuinely supernatural. Ilona Elkin, Robin Wilcock and Neil Napier lead the cast.
Devereaux had almost no money and squeezed every drop of dread out of the setting: flickering bulbs, rusted ladders, endless tiled corridors. The late twist splits viewers down the middle — bold to some, cheap to others. A lean piece of mid-2000s indie horror for anyone who rates atmosphere over polish.
