Fortitude (2015) is a British crime-thriller series you can watch online on iFILM. Set in a fictional Arctic town with a spotless safety record, the show opens with a killing — the first violent death anyone there can remember. Detective Morton arrives from the outside world and quickly finds that in a community this small and this isolated, everyone is a suspect and almost no one tells the whole truth.

The cast runs deep: Richard Dormer as the local sheriff holding the town together by sheer force of will, Stanley Tucci as the London detective sent to keep an eye on the investigation, and Michael Gambon as an old-timer whose history with the place runs darker than it looks. The frozen landscape isn't just backdrop — the Arctic cold and the permanent night seem to push people toward things they wouldn't otherwise do.
