Fortitude (2015), Season 1 is a British Arctic mystery you can watch online on iFILM — eleven episodes set in a town so safe it has never recorded a single violent crime. Until one corpse changes that.
Fortitude sits at the top of the world: permafrost, polar bears on the edge of town, a few hundred people who all know each other's faces. Then a body turns up, brutally killed. Sheriff Dan Anderssen runs the case his own way until DCI Morton arrives from the mainland, and the two men read the evidence very differently. What looks like a murder keeps refusing to stay one. An old death in a research lab resurfaces, something ancient comes out of the ice, and an illness no doctor can name begins moving through the community. Fear travels faster than any clue.
