Going Postal (Season 1)
A tale of love and revenge... and stamps.
Synopsis
Going Postal (2010) is a British fantasy mini-series you can watch online on iFILM, adapted from Terry Pratchett's Discworld novel of the same name. The two-part production aired on Sky One, with Richard Coyle as the lead, Charles Dance as the Patrician, a young Clare Foy as Adora Belle Dearheart, and Pratchett himself slipping in for a brief cameo. Director Jon Jones kept the satirical edge intact: the comedy is genuine, but underneath it runs a story about monopoly, institutional rot, and what it costs to actually do an honest job.
Moist von Lipwig is a highly accomplished con man who gets caught. His options: the gallows, or the post of Ankh-Morpork's Postmaster General — a title that hasn't meant anything in years. The post office building is buried under decades of undelivered mail. The staff follow their own private rituals. And across the street, the Grand Trunk semaphore network is making serious money for people who have no interest in competition.
Pratchett built entire satires out of bureaucracy and stamps, and the adaptation carries that off with enough warmth and wit to work for viewers who've never read the books. Stream all episodes of Going Postal on iFILM.
