Synopsis
Shakes the Clown (1991) is Bobcat Goldthwait's pitch-black crime comedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Shakes does birthday parties by day and drinks himself blind by night, in a town where clowns and mimes nurse a bitter feud.
Goldthwait wrote, directed and starred as Shakes — a washed-up party clown one bad gig away from losing everything. Then his boss turns up dead, the trail points straight at Shakes, and the only way out is to sober up long enough to clear his name. Julie Brown plays his bartender girlfriend, with a young Adam Sandler and Tom Kenny, the future voice of SpongeBob, filling out the painted-face crowd.
