Synopsis
Willow Creek (2013) is an American found-footage horror film you can watch online on iFILM. Director Bobcat Goldthwait shot it on location in the California mountains near the spot where the 1967 Patterson-Gimlin footage — the most famous alleged Bigfoot film ever made — was recorded.
Jim is a true believer. He drags his skeptical girlfriend Kelly to the small town of Willow Creek and then deeper into the forest to shoot his own video essay on the Sasquatch legend. Locals tell them not to go further. They go further. What the film then does — slowly, deliberately, without monsters or jump cuts — is build one of the longest unbroken tent scenes in horror into something genuinely unbearable. Alexie Gilmore and Bryce Johnson carry the whole thing on two people and a handheld camera.
Goldthwait made a patience-rewarding horror film: no budget, no effects, just darkness and sound. Stream Willow Creek (2013) online on iFILM.
