Synopsis

The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2013) is a political thriller from director Mira Nair — watch it online on iFILM. Riz Ahmed, Kate Hudson and Liev Schreiber lead the cast in this co-production between India, Qatar and the United States, adapted from Mohsin Hamid's acclaimed novel.

Changez is a Pakistani-born Princeton graduate who built himself a life on Wall Street — and then watched it crack apart after September 11. As suspicion quietly closes in around him, he returns to Lahore, where a tense conversation with a CIA operative played by Schreiber forces every assumption about identity and loyalty into the open. The film unfolds as a kind of interrogation: of Changez, and of the West that shaped and then discarded him.

Nair frames the story as a face-off between two men, two cities, and two ways of reading the same life. This is a film that refuses the comfort of a clear villain — and that refusal is exactly what makes it stick. Stream The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2013) online on iFILM.
