Final Cut

Final Cut (Coupez !, 2022) is Michel Hazanavicius's horror comedy, and you can watch it online on iFILM. A film crew tries to shoot a cheap zombie movie in a single unbroken take, then real corpses start wandering onto the set.

The premise looks flimsy on purpose. A director and his less-than-stellar team have signed on for an experiment: a one-take, live-broadcast horror short. The lead actress can't fake terror, a key actor turns up drunk, and everything falls apart. Then the undead show up for real, and the line between the movie they're making and the slaughter around them dissolves. Romain Duris and Bérénice Bejo lead the chaos.

It's a remake of the cult Japanese hit One Cut of the Dead, and it runs on a structural trick that only pays off in the back half, so the less you know going in, the better.
