Synopsis

Chef's Table (2015), Season 1 — six-episode Netflix documentary, watch online on iFILM. Director David Gelb spends one episode with each of six chefs in restaurants scattered across four continents.

Massimo Bottura's Osteria Francescana sits near the top of the world's best-restaurant rankings, yet he talks more about art than technique. Dan Barber runs a farm and wants to rewire how the whole industry eats. Francis Mallmann cooks over open fire in Patagonia — not as a gimmick, but because that is simply his language. Niki Nakayama reframes Japanese kaiseki in Los Angeles, far from where the tradition was born. Ben Shewry built Attica's reputation without a city crowd to lean on. Magnus Nilsson runs one of the world's great restaurants from a frozen corner of Sweden where half the year brings no fresh produce at all.

Emmy-nominated and beautifully shot, this first season works less like a food show and more like six short films about obsession. Stream Chef's Table Season 1 all episodes on iFILM.
